I am a Blogger
|
I am a blogger. I write constantly. I am expected to produce several blogs a week. I record my random thoughts and walk away. Then I need to quickly review and reorganize what I have written so it doesn’t sound so random. So it makes sense. I need an application that makes sense and that allows me to work at my multi-tasking, multi-media, multiple mission pace. I have my own blog and I write pieces for several websites. I write on a variety of topics. I am constantly working on many pieces. When I write, I begin by getting all of my thoughts down. Typically, there’s no real order. There’s just information and ideas. When my mind races with thoughts, they can come and go quickly. I just need to capture them before they’re lost. Next I review and brainstorm more. The initial nodes of information spawn further ideas. I add details as node notes. I can pin these open or pull them over into the left or right palette. This way, I can continue to add content as I move around in my map. My map is compiled of branches of ideas and information. My map is my blog. I can see it as a whole as well as the bits and pieces. I rearrange it until it conveys my thoughts and presents the topic in just the way I want it to. With Spinscape, I can find more information online to support my piece without having to leave the application. I use the auto-discovery plugins, which tap into popular resources like google search and wikipedia. I search for information and end up with webpages, images, and videos that pull directly into my map. That’s right! I can even locate just the right image to introduce my blog. Each resource comes complete with a link back to the source. I can quickly return to a site for another review, or have a reference for the source if I use it in my piece. In the end, I can export my visual blog into the report form that I need. I can create a master map of my blogs, by topic or by date, that links to the individual source maps each. I can tag my blogs in Spinscape and filter them by tag. This way I can quickly see just what I need. I now have a blog directory. A blog history. A bloggers dream: Capturing everything I’ve written–and that’s a LOT–in one place that makes it so easy to see just what I’ve done. I’m a blogger. I need to quickly and creatively capture my thoughts and just as quickly and creatively produce pieces that will capture your attention. I want my writing at my fingertips and easy access to everything online that I find. I want Spinscape.
